The son of a taxi driver, Alexander McQueen left school at the age of 16 years old to enter immediately into the world of work. After working in Savile Row at the age of twenty he moved to Milan to work as Romeo Gigli and in 1992 returned to London to complete his training at the prestigious Saint Martin School.
