Dries Van Noten (Belgium-1958) is the grandson of a famous tailor in Antwerp while his father was the owner of a men's clothing store; He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1980: He graduated in the famous class of Antwerp Six, a sextet of talented designers that included Walter Van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs and Marina Yee. Five years later, he founded his own fashion house and the following year at the show in London men's fashion week its first ready-to-wear collection. After the opening of the first flagship in Antwerp, Van Noten decides to pull out a year later another menswear (1991) and Woman (1992) in Paris, constantly offering a seasonal fashion out of the norm and dedicated to an educated audience and art lover.
